Superintendent Search

The SBCUSD Board of Education will hold two Community Input Forum meeting on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. to receive the input about the desired characteristics (see below) to be used in recruiting and selecting our new Superintendent. This is an important decision for our school district and, as such, it is essential that you have the opportunity to be involved in the process.

  • An individual who is willing to create a supportive school culture focused on students and the empowerment of staff
  • Communicator who understands the necessity of effective, timely correspondence with parents and staff
  • Energetic individual with a good work ethic
  • Successful experience in working in a diverse socio-economic, multicultural community similar to the demographics in San Bernardino
  • Implement decisions thoughtfully and effectively after considering input from all stakeholders
  • Open, transparent and approachable when dealing with all members of the district
  • Values visibility and engagement with all schools and the community
  • Appreciates and nurtures unique schools and community cultures
  • Has demonstrated success in all aspects of district administration such as curriculum, personnel, finance, and students services
  • Proven track record in effectively engaging parents
  • Willing to become an actively involved member in our community
