Parent Involvement Guide

Research shows that parent and family involvement is vital to helping children succeed in school. According to Joyce Epstein, the leading parent involvement expert in the country, parents play a vital role in setting the stage for their children's academic achievement. That's why the Board of Education has made increasing parent involvement a top priority. By giving parents a variety of ways to get involved in school, children will ultimately benefit. The San Bernardino City Unified School District encourages parents and guardians to take an active role in all aspects of their children's education, including governance and decision making. Together, educators, parents, students, and community members can succeed in educating children and preparing them to lead productive lives. This guide offers a variety of opportunities to help you get more involved in your child's education. Whether it is serving on a School Site Council, volunteering in school, or joining the Parent Teacher Association, the Parent Involvement Guide has opportunities for every parent.
