Welcoming Resource Center


The primary purpose for the center is to provide access to educational programs, services and connect families to resources in the community that serves SBCUSD. These three overarching requests emerged through the meetings held with community stakeholders.

Educational Programs:
Services that will be provided for all families and students:
  • Enrollment for elementary students and families
  • Acceleration and GATE assessment
  • Language assessment for English learners
  • Foster and homeless student and family support
  • Referrals to educational resources and programs
  • Request for Change of School (RCS - Intra-district) and Inter-district transfer information and process

Information that will be provided to all families and students about educational programs:
  • Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
  • Accelerated Learning
  • Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA)
  • Environment Education
  • Dual Language
  • Alternative Bilingual Education
  • Schools of Choice options
  • Special Education general information
  • Youth Court and credit recovery information
  • Sports

Social and Health Services:
  • Referrals to social and health resources and programs at schools and in the community
