My name is Ms. Durant and I am an 8th Grade Language Arts teacher. I have a passion for not only Language Arts but for teaching as well. My hobbies include reading, writing, and cooking. My hope is that my commitment to my profession as well as to my content area will be shown through the work that my students produce in and out of class.

Class Overview:
This class will have rigorous content that will challenge students to think critically. In this class reading, writing, and participation are going to be key elements to ensure success.

It is my hope that we develop a working relationship that will benefit your student this coming year. By working together, I believe that your student will succeed and achieve all the dreams that they and you have. Communication is key and I will make sure that I communicate with you regarding your student. On the other hand, please feel free to contact me as well.

Welcome to our class. I say "our" because it will take both of us to make this classroom great. Rest assured that you will be pushed because I believe that you have the potential to reach above and beyond. I look forward to a productive working year!
