This course prepares students for a career working in a doctor's office. Front office skills include telephone techniques, appointment scheduling, receptionist duties, and filing. Back office skills include medical ethics, pharmacology, clinical procedures, infection control and assisting the physician. Registration and Requirements

Instructor: Julia Wagner, Arroyo Valley High School
Julia Wagner joins the ROP Team with over 20 years’ experience in the medical field including medical billing and coding. Mrs. Wagner is a member of the Red Cross, and the National Center for Competency Testing, with certifications in Medical Assisting, Medical Billing, and Medical Coding. She is a graduated from Redlands Adult Education as a License Vocational Nurse (LVN). Mrs. Wagner is a site proctor for National Center for Competency Testing.
Instructor: Janet Jacobsen, Cajon High School
Ms. Jacobsen joins the ROP Team with 20 years of experience in the field of health care. She has written new curriculum for County Schools. She is a state certified Medical Assistant, Nationally Registered EMT and is a CPR and First Aid Instructor for Red Cross and American Heart Association. She is a also a member of the California Association of Health Career Educators.
Instructor: Robin Van Geest, Pacific High School
Ms. Van Geest joins ROP with over 25 years as an Registered Nurse. She has worked as a pediatric, public health and school nurse. Ms. Van Geest received her Associate Degree from Ceritos College and her Bachelor Degree from National University.
